I careful timed my order from XCracer ao it arrived when i was at home and Mrs K wasnt. Today i was about to phone them and moan at the delay to the delivery.

I came home and found the contents of my order on the kitchen table. 2 bottles, 1 muckynutz fender and a bolt through axle. As i was glancing quizzically at the stuff, Mrs K said, "I ordered something for your Christmas present the other day, and this lot of freebies was also in the box, I thought you may want to keep them".

Best keep quiet eh? Someone at XC racer obviously had the brains to match the address!

Good point. I need to go Christmas present hunting while she's out tomorrow.

Lol, how old are you, the last time I pulled a trick like that was when I was into custom PC's, a spanking brushed aluminium lian-li full tower case arrives, my cohabiting girlfriend "how much was that, it looks expensive?"

Me: got a cheap deal, £80...

Some hours later my friend comes around, sweet case! Arn't they like £250?

Girlfriend goes full donald trump. All are sad.

😀

Many years ago I bought my then girlfriend, now wife, a set of SPD pedals for Christmas. "But they won't fit my shoes" she correctly observed (she had Look pedals/shoes for her road bike).

"Ah, there's this" at which point I brought in the Sunn hardtail I'd managed to hide in the garden shed for three weeks. She'd been wanting a mountain bike for most of the year and had absolutely no idea I'd got her one 😆

I do like DPD delivery, because I can get it re-routed to the local Halfrauds for collection .
Thus eliminating the inevitable "what have you bought now " conversation *

I work in Tanzania for 6 weeks at a time. So if I order anything online then it's almost certain that I won't be home for delivery. Just ordered two new lights and some winter gloves so I'll wait for the normal message next week of 'now what have you been ordering?'.

Last year I ordered a new weight bench, power cage, Olympic weight set and curling bar. 'Forgot' to tell my wife and she wasn't too happy moving it all into the garage 😆
