Hi all,

Does anyone know when the trails (specifically countdown and launchpad) are likely to open?

They've been closed for work for ages, were due to reopen a couple of months ago but the storms damaged them again and DTV rightly wanted to sort them out before they got ridden.

Just to be clear, this is definitely not a complaint, just wondered if anyone knew a bit more; the DTV and the Forestry England websites don't say anything about how long it's likely to be before they reopen...

I would hazard a guess that it's entirely dependent on the weather playing nice and ****ers keeping off the trails until they are ready.

I took a look at them on Sunday and the lower berms had pretty fresh tyre marks on them...

Yeah, I've seen that, and the orange "fencing" keeps getting moved or just ridden over.

Annoys me, but it must be pretty infuriating if you've spent weeks rebuilding a trail and then some entitled idiots decide the "please don't ride yet" signs don't apply to them...!

It's not just the weather. Back on Track, the company contracted to do the work need to come back and make some changes but they're away on other jobs at the moment and can't come back until they're finished.

You can find all current trail closures here - https://www.forestryengland.uk/article/cannop-cycle-centre-trail-status

And I would follow Forest of Dean Cycle Trails on either Facebook or Instagram to stay up to date.
