Recent reports of motorbikes spotted on the trails including the new Verderers trail. So our friends at the FC have asked that riders should not put themselves at risk if they see motorbikes but should report them straight to the police. If they can provide registration numbers or even photos or film of the motorbikes to help track them down, then it would be of benefit to us all.
Ant.

Even before the Verderers Trail was finished there were signs of motorbike damage ripping up the edges 🙁
Local kids have always played in the woods on motorbikes, we used to do it 40 years ago, it was like a rights of passage thing. Some of the better known 'MTB trails' here were started on motorbikes! It's a shame they have to rip up the new purpose built MTB trails though and if I get the chance to talk to any of them I tell them to keep off these trails. We went through a period a while back where older riders were shipping bikes here in vans, hope that hasn't started again.

Surely the damage an MX bike does to surfaced trails is less than that of non-surfaced ones?

We rode the Vedrerers a week before the offical opening and i noticed MX tyre tracks running across it and along it. The damage to the non-surfaced parts was far worse.

Bloody stupid to be riding on a bike trail when they have an entire forest to play in!
