Can anyone recommend me a guide for a days riding the off piste stuff in the FOD. There will be 4 or 5 of us and it will be a Wednesday or a Thursday in May. Tia
There isn’t really any official guiding on it, as far as FE are concerned anything that isn’t in Sallow Valets isn’t recognised.
Wye Valley MTB do their ‘tours’ but you arnt going to be on much, or any of the off piste - you will be usually on official bridleways.
Loads on here or on facebook via fodmtb that might be able to help, theres loads there though so probably work out what you're after first before sorting the day out, you can get some harder stuff in places like Staunton, but that's the opposite end of the forest from the likes of Lydney/Pillowell/Elwood, which has a better range of easier to moderate stuff.
If the dates work I can show you a fair chunk as a mates ride. Rubber duck, Elwood, Dowie's, Shuttcastle etc. I could link enough together for a full day out easily.
I'd be on the ebike though as it gets a bit climby lol
