You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I've been looking around for a new commuter bike to take over from my mtb for a while now and have found the Focus Planet Carbon which seems to fit my needs (read wants) nearly down to a 't'. The only things I could see myself changing would be adding drop bars and cable disks.
However I'm not sure the frame is suited to taking mudguards? Has anyone seen one up close or know of any mudguards that could be fitted? It's not looking like it has mountings for guards from the limited pictures I have found on the net.

Um, I'm not sure why you'd buy it if you then need to put drops on it, and STis, and cable discs.
In fact, would it be fair to say it actually doesn't meet your needs?
...and the top tube might be too short to use with drops...
Top tube should be fine, they use the same frame on their CX bikes with drops.
Struggling to find a road orientated carbon framed CX bike with disks and drops - this is as close as I've found.
So buy the CX, change the tyres and the big ring; a lot less faff and just as good.
They don't do disks on the CX bikes.
...so it's not the same frame...
Good point. I need to do some checking - many thanks for pointing that out, much appreciated.
Geometry is identical for both bikes according to their website, so I assume that drop bars would still be ok providing that information is correct.
