Anyone got a Focus E-Mtb, specifically a Jam or Jam2? Good, bad or indifferent? Just asking for a friend .....

Two friends have had them for about 18months.

Both have snapped a rear shock mountain bolt and one has had a new battery. They also have the USA software fitted to give them 20mph.

They got extender batteries as a deal and have towed me around a few places when my bosch battery ran out.

They have been good bikes. Not sure about the latest version though.

Mate did 8600 miles on his Jam, new motor out of warranty, no question.

Was that a Bosch or a Shimano motor?

I've got one.. 2019 6.7 nine and it's really good. Covered 1700miles so far ranging from local loops to bigger stuff in the peaks/wales and the lakes. Doesnt quite have the same punch from the motor that the yamaha and new bosch motors give but its more than enough to get my extremely lardy arse up anywhere I've tried.
If I could change one thing about it easily then I'd have designed it to be able to accommodate a 500wh battery instead of the 378wh pack it has to save the possible need for a tec pack

My LBS had the Jam2 E-MTB in with the tan wall tyres and that bike was a good looker IMO!

I've got a JAM² 6.8 NINE on order, can't wait. I've already got a set of Code R brakes, a Lyrik fork and a one up dropper to go straight on it.

It's now a toss-up between a jam2 6.9 and an Orbea something or other err.... for my friend.

Did you negotiate any sort of discount for the 6.8 Nine?

I was going to get an Orbea but when I sat on them I felt between sizes. You can’t really upsize with the Orbea as the seat post is too long.

I ordered the focus online and got messed about and the order was cancelled. I was a bit cheeky but I asked my LBS if they’d price match it for me and they did.
