Hello everyone. I've got a favour to ask. The ranger for the Hurtwood (Leith, Holmbury, Pitch, south of London) has come across another huge chunk of fly tipping on Hurtwood land. Details on his Facebook page here: [url=

tipping[/url].

It seems that he's found some link to a house in W3 - 104 Noel Road. Is anyone in that neck of the woods and able to check it out for possible signs of builders or rubbish removal?

Flytipping takes up a lot of the Ranger's time down here - time better spent on helping members of the public enjoy using the Hurtwood - stuff like trail building, for example. Plus, flytipping is downright selfish. Any help gratefully received.

I've got a friend who lives in Acton. I'll see if she passes that way and if she can take a pic of the buidlers van.

I saw this on Sunday too, as noted quite a long way down the track basically as far as they could get the vehicle. Hopefully they can track down the culprits, however it does seem a long way to bring such rubbish and would seem more likely to be local as location is a little out of the way although not too far from the trail of the same name.

Streetview has several houses with skips outside (OK, so date is inconclusive) but also one rather interesting looking van parked on Noel Road. Panel sided, canvas topped. Scruffy.
No sign of any commercial premises that leap out.

That bit of the Winterfold is very easy to get to with a tipper could logs be put across to hamper the scum bags?

Yup - Google Maps Streetview shows a lot of renovation going on on that street - the the copyright is 2012, so it would have been shot this year. I can't find 104, however.

There's always a balance between providing access for horses and riders as well as walkers, and preventing fly tipping. Also, there may be a need for vehicle access.

Oh my god! I can't believe I came across this page. I was googling 104 Noel Road in Acton as I used to live there just over a month ago and wanted to see if it was up for rent to see how much it had gone up in price. Yes I have a feeling this will definitely be it! All of us had to move out and the next week the place was gutted and in the process of renovation. The address is 104 Noel Road W3 0JS, London. It wouldn't surprise me if the builder is dumping waste like you mention. Apparently an Indian man who owns multiple properties including Costa chains owns the property. It was my house mate who signed the house in his name who told me this when I lived there. Please contact me if you need more info. I am more than willing to nail this bastard.

Londoner - thanks! Please get in touch with the Hurtwood Ranger through the links above, or drop me a line at ben.tudoratgmail.com. Unfortunately, I can't see any contact details on your profile, otherwise I'd mail you. 🙂
