Fitted a new pair of fox float 36 rc2 forks 4 weeks ago. Had c 10 rides now and struggling to get them set up right. Before people leap in and blame user error or getting baffled by suspension, this is my 3rd set of rc2's in the past 10 years and always got the others dialed in pretty quickly. Followed my usual routine of get the sag right (I like about 30%), the rebound, low & high speed in that order. Problem I'm having is they just feel a bit to harsh & firm at 30% sag. Don't think is the pressure, more the dampening. The new damper is noticeably firmer than the old, however high speed adjustment seems to do little to nothing, low speed does but currently riding with it c 4 clicks from fully open and still doesn't feel right. Any ideas? Anyone else found the sweet spot yet - I'm about 14.5 stone in kit and ride fairly aggressively. My next idea is take nearly all dampening off and play with the volume spacers (not touched them yet)
I'm running a 29er set. I'm heavier, prob 15 1/2 stone kitted up. Running 80psi on my pump gauge, 30ish % sag. No HSC, 4 clicks of LSC from open too. Feel good for me, I don't know if they have any tokens fitted as I've never opened them but bought used.
It sounds like you are pretty happy with how to set them up. Maybe a volume reducer and a little less pressure would help with that initial sensitivity. I would have thought that they should have 'run in' after your rides. Have you reduced the air pressure and tried a range of hsc to see if it is actually working?
