I was watching the video of Joe Barnes how does he flick the back end around the corners on the tight corners , can't even imagine being able to do it 😯
Plenty of front brake to pitch the weight forward and lift through your legs and move in the direction you want to flick.
Haven't seen the video so don't know exactly which method he's using but there are a few.
The most natural is based on something you should be doing anyway:
On the approach to a corner, unweight the bike. While the bike is "light", get it on the line you want (i.e. coming in wide, diving for the apex). Drive your weight back onto the bike, biased towards the front wheel. Carve through the corner.
As this becomes second-nature, you'll almost naturally find that it's becoming exaggerated to the point where the back wheel is leaving the ground as you unweight, swinging onto the line, then coming back down as you pressure the bike through the corner.
Otherwise, for slower speed corners, work on your endos and rear-wheel lifts. On slow-speed switchbacks, coming to a stop, holding the front brake and lifting the back wheel to put it down on a new line is pretty easy - practise on the flat somewhere. To keep a rolling endo going as you do this is trickier but very achievable!
by simply weighting, unweighting each wheel at the right time, leaning in and pushing with the hips and bars (again at the right time)

if you mean other videos where you've seen DHers slide the rear wheel the wrong way before a turn, that's simply a set-up skid to scrub a tiny bit of speed but allow you to flick it back (quicker) for the actual turn.

+1, a handfull of front brake mid corner is a recipie for disaster!
Weight forewards and flick the rear with your hips, you can practice in a car park by doing slow turns and hoping the back end round, then trying to do the same on faster and faster turns. Obviously on the trail the same movement just unweights the rear and makes it slide.
it's just practice.. next time it's wet out go and practice cutties on wet grass as it's safe even for 50yr old fat duffers 😉 once you're confident with the bike going sideways your ready to do it in turns on the trails.

Stevomcd nicely put, i find when im coming in fast without thinking am almost bouncing my weight on the bike pushing into the corner. i suppos its kind of liek unweighting and then getting yoru weight onto the frint when you really need the grip. Im kack at explaining these things so excuse my drivel.In the tight ones i tend to unweight the back and just twist my hips to get it to skip round and slide to where i want it.
Good point JamieMc, meant to include that - get the hips twisting/pushing and get your outside foot pushing hard on the pedal - you push the pedal outwards as well as downwards to exaggerate the flick.

Tried it out on the trail today managed it once felt strange , I notice I do un weight the bike turning and sometimes turn in the air never noticed before, never stop learning 🙂
Scarier move is turning in to a slide to start a high side in order to snap you upright quicker. Every time I've tried that I've gone OTB 😳
