Bought a bargain priced mavic helium wind proof jacket from Evans.

Swapped sizes as the medium was too tight across the chest.

The large is deafening at anything over 15mph, flapping like crazy.

Are all lightweight jackets like this? What's the alternative?

Find a jacket that fits better? You'll find they are all different cuts so some brands and styles will fit your body shape better than others.

I've got one and yes, they flap.

So I've got one of the Gabba jerseys coming instead.

I had that issue with some Gore jackets. They seemed like an odd shape until you are actually hunched over the bars. Suddenly, it all fits! Ask to sit on a bike in the shop in which you are trying them on.

trying on is king, stretch-fit is best.

LIghter fabrics like pertex will flap more.

My Montane Velo fits me well and doesn't flap. When it dies I wont hesitate to buy another.

went out in my gabba jersey in the rain today, its ace. like a normal jersey in fit but windproof and kept the rain out. bit warm for anything over 15C though. I reckon it'll get a lot of use over our fine summer. it is a bit on the skinny boy side, I bought a large and its *snug* especially on the beer storage device.
