On my aluminium scandal frame one of the water bottle threaded frame studs had come away from the frame (only held in by the fact that its attached to the water bottle holder at the moment! Whats the best way to stick it back in? Was thinking araldite?

Look up rivnuts - thats what they usually are. so long as the drilling in the frame is OK you can replace it

Cheers, on closer inspection its loose in the frame (spins freely) but won't come out, is it best to forcefully remove this then put a new one in?

no - don't do that. Try tightening it up again - get a bolt an inch or more long the right thread and put a nut on it. Wind the bolt into the rivnet and then tighten the nut down - hold the bolt, tighten the nut and it will crimp the rivnet back onto the frame
