You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Hi all,
My brother rides my old 2013 Specialized Camber. The frame is still going strong, as are most of the original parts, but recently the Rockshox Monarch shock has gone - it basically won’t keep air in it as far as I can tell and just stays sagged when you sit on the seat.
Does anyone know if these are still repairable or if you can by them new? It is a weird proprietary shock - or at least the way it fastens to yoke is and it is autosag (this is the bike - https://www.bikeradar.com/reviews/bikes/mountain-bikes/specialized-camber-comp-review/ )
Thanks!
This should be whats fitted although they did do a Fox one for the same bike
Custom Monarch RL w/ AUTOSAG, air spring, lockout and reb adj., 197x48mm
You can still get them new from some of the German sites but they aren't cheap.
Plush Suspension (Brink) took over all the warranty and servicing for Specialized UK when they shut down their in-house suspension workshop. It might be worth a phone call to see if they can help.
Have a word with TFTuned?
Brilliant, thank you both. I think I’ve seen them on German websites before in the right size, but couldn’t tell if they were absolutely right with the weird yoke connection etc.
Maybe Plush or Tftuned would be better. I’ll speak to him, but budget will be the limiting factor. I’ll also keep an eye out on eBay, but they seem few and far between these days unsurprisingly.
Presumably you can take the stanchion with Yoke out and fit it to another body as a fix if required?
That said it probably only needs some o rings swapping over.. internals can't be much different to a proper non proprietary monarch and hopefully the silly autosag thing is an add on rather than integral ?
