So where are they all then? I sold one about a year ago and fancy one now for a bit of town riding while it's all quiet, but they all seem really expensive for what they are. Nothing local under about £170 including Mango, No Logo etc

I've still got mine.
You're not having it...

But get one, and we can fixie**** around town together ❤

STW recommendation what you have; Pinnacle Monzonite, cheapish, good frame, old school geometry forward facing drop outs. Comes as single speed but that’s an easy change.

The peak was around 2012 so market has dried up a bit since then. Frames are still selling well on eBay though so still a market for people who want a nice fixed gear bike but maybe the cheap crap like Mango has ended up in the local tip.

What he said -^

Although a lot of old frames are still changing hands for silly money.

Mine, actually for sale just waiting for the dynamo light to come back from B+M.

I still have my fixie (a 'viking citifix I bought on a whim about 6 years ago), it's become more of a pub bike though with riser bars rather than drops.

I think the best fixies are repurposed old bikes rather than modern Taiwanese box-brand things.

I have an 80s specialized sportrock frame, that is ostensibly useless, 1" head tube, odd sized seat tube 130mm spaced slotted dropouts but I really want to convert it to a fixie for no good reason... Might be a bit of a lockdown project.

Still got mine, although it's been replaced for most duties by the gravel bike. One of these:

I'm thinking I might put it on the turbo actually...

TINAS I’ve PMd you! Been stalking a fixie for a while after snapping my last steel one about 6 years ago.

Upsidedown to the forum (not gonna attempt to parse his username)

I've got a few I barely ride. Just inherited another off my dad, which I might put knobblies on and try riding the tamer local fireroads on, just for lols

Bob was your dad a full hipster?

Its a nice bike the redone in the other thread looked good too.

I'm in the old 531 road bike camp for my fixed gears.

Does any body want to buy a joblot of downtube shifters?

>Upsidedown

I'm famous!

I actually just built this back up again after about 4 years in the loft to enjoy on the quieter roads.

Three fixies that aren’t road legal in a row.

You should, they are good fun on gravel roads. This is my only bike (All City Big Block) and gets used for road and gravel

@joshvegas he actually had three fixies, a proper old-school audax type thing, a hipster Mongoose with a toptube pad (used for riding to the Coop to get bread until well into his 70s!), and the Cinelli above. I can't rehome them all but the Cinelli is the only one I could imagine riding.

Getting the itch back. Last time I rode one was in a fixed gear crit series, custom Condor frame (Deda Zero, Paul track ends, road-height BB but no bosses anywhere) on some nice Record hubs/Mavic tub rims. A joy to ride, but when I leave town in any direction there's a 500m climb to contend with so I just don't bother.
