Used a mushroom thingy to fix cut in tyre which seems to have worked - testing it is a problem as I can’t get one side of the tyre close enough to the rim to inflate the bloody thing! I had to build up a few layers of Gorilla tape when I fitted this tyre initially but still same amount of tape in there...any tips?

Some tyres are buggers to get close to the rim. I always find an airshot or gas can the only way to force a stubborn tyre into place

Flash Charger or similar. Brush a load od suudsy washing up liquid / water onto the tyre/ rim interface. Take core out of valve for better air flow. Pump!!!

Is it a tubeless rim? Makes a bit of difference as some tricks like pulling the tyre partly onto the rim with levers don't work without a tubeless bead

Running an elastic strap or cable ties round the edge then tightening can help with baggy tyres too

Can you tie a luggage strap (etc)round the middle  of they tyre and compress the middle of the tyre into the well whilst simultaneously working the bead outwards round the tyre and leave the strap there whilst inflating (dad used to do tubeless car tyres this way)

me, I bought a flash

Or nip to a garage with an air hose

Did you seat the tyre fully with a tube in, then just unseat one side to remove tube and then tried again?

Normally I can get mine seated with a track pump, but when all else fails, I get the pump up weedkiller/woodstain sprayer, pump it up and push the hose over the valve 🙂

What thegingerone said - stick a tube in and get the bead seated and then take out and try again. Always have to do this with my WTB rims.....

Popped a tube in to get seated on at least one side, then put soap bubbles on other side and took valve core out and pumped like mad. Bingo! The satisfying pops suggested the seal was good. Deflated as had to put core back in then pumped up to check if my repair worked - that was fine but the bloody valve is leaking which never used to - from inside the tyre not through the core not being on incorrectly. I hadn’t put new jizz in at this point in case I had to remove tyre and again - the jizz wouldn’t have stopped the valve leak would it? Totally naffed off with it now plus noticed a few flat spots on rim - odd as no loose spokes and seemed to spin ok after I’d popped a tube in after the puncture to continue the ride last Weds. Sometimes being a biker is a complete pain in the arse! 😬

Sealant will seal the valve in to the rim once added. Just make sure the valve is really as tight as you can get it.

Job done.
