Its bloody windy here in Belfast, I have a nasty headwind to face on the way home.
last night was pretty crap too.
I've always ridden SS but have a fixed sprocket on the other side thats never been used.
Is attempting to ride home fixed into this for my first time ever, just so I have something to concentrate on other than the wind and length of time its taking, crazy or clever?
fixed into a headwind is never much fun. is the cog bigger or smaller than the ss sprocket?
fixed gear is 5 inches smaller.
I'll leave fixie land for another day maybe
fixed is better than ss on the road. all the time. imo 😉
I really don't get fixie. I tried it on my Langster and didn't see any point to it. Freewheel is better imo. Spinning like an idiot down big hills isn't fun, better to have a rest 🙂
better to have a rest
here're you're slippers 😉
Both of my bikes are singlespeed, thus I am young and full of beans 😆
Trouble with SS is that the moment you back off and freewheel into a headwind, you'll come to a dead halt.
Fixed 5" smaller will be noticeable. I'd switch to fixed. I mean, dark, rain, wind, first time fixed - what't the worst that could happen?
Fixed is better for sure, maybe, I think 🙂
Fixed, stop looking for excuses and go for it 😉
