OH has just got a pair of women's Freerider Pro, her first proper flat shoe and is unsure if they fit correctly.
She has quite wide feet and often buys men's trainers or walking boots to get a good fit. The Five Tens are fine length wise and she says she can move her toes around fine in them but they are gripping the widest part of her foot, not painful just very snug and she definately would only be able to wear a thin sock with them. Does that sound right? I have heard that flats should be pretty snug but am unsure how snug. Are the men's version wider for the same size? I have read that the standard Freerider non pro has a wider fitting.
Freerider Pro's are the same sizing between the men's and women's, just some different colours.
I have fairly slim/narrow feet and find them a good fit for me. I also personally like a fairly snug fit for flat pedal shoes as I think there's not much point having grippy soles and spikey pins if you're foot is going to move around in the shoe.
Like all shoes/trainers they will stretch a bit in use, so I wouldn't be worried if they are snug but if they are pinching or hurting then they are too small.
Weirdly I have really wide feet, I have to get the wide versions of Shimano shoes which are already not-narrow.
I have women size 45 free riders because the mens weren't in stock in that size so I'm fairly sure they're the same.
Actually found them too roomy and added a second insole!
@niceandy well, if you have slim feet and find them a good snug fit then I would guess they are too tight on her wide feet.
@thisisnotaspoon are yours the non pro version? I have read somewhere that the pros are quite a bit narrower than the non pros.
The men’s and women’s appear to be made on the exact same lasts. Post-Adidas are smaller than older ones though.
Pros are definitely narrower than regular freeriders . I'm a UK 9 in Freeriders but 9 1/2 in Freerider Pros .
@ Ramsey Neil yeah, I suspect she needs to go up half a size.
