Right, I've bought some wheels with tyres 2nd hand and it turns out they're tubeless ready–both the rim and tyres. I'm not bothered about using them tubeless so I want to fit a new inner.
Thing is, despite knowing the tyre came off the rim, I can see no way it's possibly going back on! I've got it on one side, and about 3/4 on the other and no the bead forms a straight line across the last bit of rim. I've tried everything I can think of and it's simply not possible.
Is there some sort of trick I'm missing?
Make sure one side of the bead is in the centre channel all the way round
tubeless it and keep the tube as a spare in your camelbak if you ever need it.
They can be really tight- try using a bit of soapy water to lubricate it a bit.
Right, someone has definitely switched my tyres for ones slightly too small for the wheels. There is categorically no way these can fit.
It's all in the technique.
Are you doing the bit of bead around the valve last?
Just use a big pair of tyre levers to get them on, oh you can't. For some reason you want to use a tube... 🙄
