I've got a new foot plate ready to go on. I imagined it would take to seconds to push the pin out, fit the new plate and then push in the new pin.
With simple tools in the house (couldn't be bother to venture to the shed in the dark last night) the original pin seemed very resistant to budging. Am I being daft or do I just need to hold the pump in a suitable manner and apply enough force to push the pin out?
Yep just a firm push, use a small allen key like a 3mm. Also ensure your pushing from the correct side as its tapered so will only want to go one way.
ah... tapered, that's useful to know, thanks. How do I know which side to push from?
From the smaller side 😉
Looking at the old pin in place, I'm not sure I can tell the difference between 3.5mm and 3.4mm. 😉
Even with the new pin in my hand, I didn't noticed that it's tapered, it must be only very slightly tapered.
