Hey,
I have just done my first club ride with the local club (I was the only one on a CX but it seemed to keep up OK).
I think they will probably require mudguards in the winter.
What guards do I need and how on earth do I fit them?
Cheers,
Mick
I'm just wondering if the Axoim Roadrunners will fit?

Bit of bending required on front stays, but any mudguards will fit. I use SKS Bluemel Reflective Mudguards

They look good. Are you using the screws in the frame?
Yes, just using the fittings points on the bikes - there's already mudguard mounting points in the expected location on the rear, the front if awkwards but not that bad
Just recalled, I had to drill a hole in the rear guard to allow it to fix to the seatstay bridge as the bolt there is on the underside of the bridge. No biggie though
Great thanks.
On a completely different note, do you have mechanical or hydraulic brakes?
I'm on mechanical and am dreading adjusting them, I've only had it a couple of months.
Really liking the XLA, I only bought it on a whim and have found I'm using it more than my MTB.
Mick
I've got the 1*11 hydraulic version. Cracking bike for the money
I use those SKS/Blumels guards on my disk brake road bikes. Doing the bending round the caliper is easier if you cut one of the stay off and just use a silgle on the brake side. Still enough stiffness for adjustment and no rubbing. Looks better than a massive long sticky out bolt too IMO.
Do know what size you have? There seems to be:
700/35
700/42
700/45
700/53
I'm running 35mm tyres.
I've 700C*35mm tyres, I use 700/45 mudguards - accepted wisdom is tyre size plus 10mm
Thanks
