I won't need the black spacer (I think) as the bb is 92mm.
However, are the 2 silver washers. Do they go between the bearing outers and the cranks, one each side?
Can't think of where else they would fit being 30mm ID....the same as the Race Face cranks that are going on?
Would I be right guys?
As always, thanks for the help!
I don't have any silver washers on my set up, although I'm running the hope cranks, I don't even remember getting any! Possibly they're just spacers to sort the chainline?
I'm any case the flanges on the bearings are supposed to sit against the bottom bracket shell. I'd try it without any spacers 1st and then add them if required as if they're too wide the cranks will bind upon tightening.
May will be spacers but pretty thin, less that a mm each I would say.
Strange Hope don't have a pdf for this particular bb?
Is there a seal of any type that covers the bearings? On Hope headsets, they supply thin shims like that to space the top race dust cover. It allows setup of the headset so the rubber seal of the dust cover is just sealing but doesn't drag too much. It's a case of adding shims one by one to get the perfect fit. Could it be the same for a bearing cover on the bb?
Could well be what you said mate.
Really not sure.lol
Will probably just put one on each side against the bearing next to the crank.
Only place they fit anyway.
The don't seal anything for sure, way too narrow.
Just glorified big washers so will test them as such. 😀
So my new hope pf41 Bb has turned up, but it just looks like two bearings with no outter ‘sheild’ Or cover?? Is that correct? If so how are people’s bearings lasting? Can imagine they are going to get goosed fairly quickly? Or am I wrong?
There is no outer shield on them, correct. mine seem to last a reasonable length of time.
The PF41 is really intended to be dealer installed with a very specific tool. Guessing this is why details are so thin on the ground.
Mine in my old 26er Zesty was the best thing I ever fitted to that bike. Dragged it out of the naughty cellar last week after a couple of years disuse and still sweet. Without pulling my cranks off not 100% but thought there was a black metal shield each side. No insight on installation, I let 18bikes do this job.
The Hope bearings should be sealed and on the outer faces you should have an outer seal.

Just been looking into this myself but turns out Hope do not do a service kit of bearings and outer seals you just have to buy the bits.
lists all the variations and where bits go...

Sure about that please Mariner? Thought that part was for the threaded cups and the PF4130 just uses the little 1mm x 30mm dia stainless shims on the crank axle.
Yeah my pf41 30mm Bb came with just the bearings, a spacer and two washers so it literally is the bearing face then crank.
Fitted beautifully though so I’m happy enough
My pf41 has the external seals and an XTR crankset came off it.
Here is the text from tech support at Hope
The part code for the a single bearing is BBSP108:S and retails at £18.71 each, and the outer seal is BBSP104 retailing at £1.22 each.
If you google BBSP108 S you get the outer seal.
What crankset are you using 30mm or 24mm?
Are we even taking about the same item a pressfit BB in a 92mm BB shell
Hope PF41 for 24mm dia. cranks.
Confusing init.
