So, as I'm mainly using my CX bike for commuting at the moment I am considering fitting proper guards, the one issue is there are no mounts on the frame - not surprising as it's a carbon race bike.
Is there anyway of securing some variety of SKS (or similar) guards to the frame; I know I can use P-Clips for the stays and the fork legs, and I think there's a threaded insert in the crown of the fork so the front isn't a massive issue. It's the rear, there is no seat stay brace and the BB shell is a big chunk of carbon, any ideas?
Zip ties and bailing twine for that pro look.
Or a nail gun!
Or man up and get wet 😉
Tape and P-clips
I've got these, they also do an XL wide version. Work a treat and are very sturdy

Fitted SKS Chromoplastic full length guards to my CX. Used zip ties to fix to seat stays and also at bottom bracket. although there was some judicious trimming of the mudguard to make them fit.
Go for a wider fitting as you can get away with. I think mine are about 40mm wide on a 32mm tyre on a Whyte Saxon Cross.
Definitely worth the effort to get them fitted.
Tape and P-clips and zip-ties and possibly drilling/trimming the guards where necessary. Be creative in your bodging.
I’ve got some of those which clip to the forks / seatstays. The packaging states 32c max but I’ve got a set fitted with 41c knards no problem at all.
These work really well for the front mudguard, just slot on over the QR skewer and you attach the guard mounts to these.

Can't find any in stock in UK (didn't look beyond a very quick Google search) but you should be able to find some. Think mine came from SJS cycles.
Or these look similar / better, and are available in the UK:
I've used the SKS raceblade XL (currently got one on the back of the hack, but only cos the full length one broke). They're ok, found the front difficult to keep secure and in place, and I'd your doing mixed terrain commuting, they bounce around a bit. They also aren't a full 'guard, so you do get a bit more spray/much (particularly down the back of the seattube and over the front mech) but they keep the worst off.
I'm using Crud roadracer Mk 3 on my Whyte Gisburn with Schwalbe X-one tyres. They attache with stick on velcro patches. They can be a bit wobbly when hammering down rocky stuff and have been fiddly to get just right so there is no tyre rub. Overall I'm happy with them.
