You don't need ever so slightly larger chainring bolts do you? The ones I've got don't quite fit and I don't want to damage my ring by doing it up tight and it then shearing later (Oo er)

I could put some washers in it, but they'd need to be really fine washers to also allow the chain ring bolt through.

Pook length wise I needed longer for my e13 bash and slx cranks.

I bought the raceface ones off crc for cheap.

What bash? I've got my original bolts you could try. I'll pop them in the post if you want.

Not sure what bash you have but I would just use washers or get other bolts big enough to fit

A triple crank will likely [ or possibly have] longer bolts than a double as they need to attach another ring. i thought you meant they were not long enough rather than not wide enough.

So can I get fat headed chain ring bolts to avoid having to put washers in?

If you describe your actual set up, what cranks, bash and middle ring someone will probably have the same set up and advise accurately ?

I'm guessing he's bought something like the SLX Double bash. Which doesn't fit standard chainring bolts.

shimano bash ring needs fatter bolts, which iirc cost more than the (admittedly cheap) bash. Oh and it's more of a scuff ring, hit it on anything proper and it'll break. Cheap and light chain keeper onner tho.

Normal Ali bashrings afaik just use normal bolts, not sure if some of those poly ones use spacers to prevent bolts crushing the plastic.

edit

So can I get fat headed chain ring bolts to avoid having to put washers in?
see above, you may have to use spacers to prevent damaging the bash

While we're on the subject, anyone know of any bash compatible bolts without the ridiculous flat jobbied backs ?

So a nice 5-6mm allen on each side ..

Without knowing the parts being used that is all that is being done here.

Agree, however, it's based upon previous experience along with having bought an SLX bash which gave the exact same problem for me as it seems to have for him.

weeksy has advised on the most common issue - Shimano bash rings have little inserts and special bolts with wide heads.

Pook the bolts I'm posting are from a SLX double and bash so should be perfect.
