Hi
After a bit of advice and opinions.
I have been using a 29er Vitus Escarpe 2017 that I build up myself over the last couple of seasons, it’s been great but fancy something different.
My riding is mostly local single track xc with short down hills Llandegla, Eastridge and Hopton.
Currently looking at YT Jeffsy 29 carbon comp or pro. Or new Orbea Occam top alloy or bottom carbon model.
Any comparable real life experience? Which has better reputation in terms of reliability and Warranty?
Anything else that might help make up my mind?
Any other alternative suggestions?
Any info would be much appreciated!!
Cheers
What do you find lacking on your escarpe?
If it's anything like my 2018 escarpe VR, I wanted something a bit lighter, a steeper SA, better suspension, and a nicer quality frame.
If the new Occam was available it would have been up there but I'm awaiting delivery on a Jeffsy CF Pro Race 29 as I got a stonking deal, £3420 rather than £4800 rrp.
Pretty similar thoughts around my escarpe - feels a bit heavy and “dead” on any thing not pointing down. Fancy something a bit more lively and easier to accelerate and peddle.
Ye some great deals on the YT. Sounds like a bargain- hope you have a blast on it mate!!
Sonder Cortex?
Good shout!!

I would look at something light and nimble with a bit less travel. Something like a Scott Spark, Canyon Neuron, Trek Fuel EX etc. I just picked up a carbon Neuron and its proving really quick on singletrack loops, both up and down. Previous bike was a 4 year old carbon Spesh Enduro, which feels like a bit of a barge in comparison.
