With the brightness of modern lights night riding isn't much different to daytime riding! Apart from the things in the shadows waiting to jump out and chase you 😈 😮 😉

+1 No matter how good the lights are they don't protect from the evil which lurks in the woods just outside the pool of light. 😯

Roots look like snakes, every rustle in the woods is either a big bear or a mad axeman, I think I ride quicker as I'm afriad of the bogey man. Not sure I enjoy it until I get home and the doors are locked!

People say wolves are extinct in Britain, but anyone who's done a solo night ride knoiws different.

Absolutely, was this around the back of Chequers? I am convinced I saw one slink across the trail a few weeks ago.

Never look behind you

I once got chased by a rabble of strikers

That imaginary sound of something behind you will always make you look round, then you'll have broken the seal……once the fear's there, it wont go away……it niggles no matter how much you dismiss it, just how fast can that axe wielding psycho run….if your climbing you feel extra vulnerable, surprising how much quicker axe man gets you to the top…....adds a whole new buzz to mountain biking. Up a hill in the middle of a forest at night, just cos we got some shiny spangly expensive lights……great innit! 🙂
