Doesn't seem to want to work for me, is it for anyone else? Is there any other way of finding out who owns land.
Land registry has a map function where you can just click on some land .Costs a few quid to get the docs though .
I can't get that site to work either, tried Firefox and Edge. It just opens a new blank window. There's a link on the right hand side to report problems, I'd try that.

Or the nearest farmer?

the Forestry Commission publish ownership details as open data, which you can view on a map:
link above or on OS maps FC land has a purple outline. If it's private you'll have to pay to find out and even then you might just go round in circles of shell companies
