As some of you will know, I’ve been searching for a sensible bike that can be a Jack of all trades. I had a Cotic Flare, but sold it as it wasn’t getting the use it deserved. I needed something that could be used for commuting, general bimbling, road riding, mild off road and the occasional proper off road jaunt.

Sensible and practical is what was needed. Therefore I ended up with this.....

Stooge

I think you will all agree I’ve made the sensible decision. Thomson 6 bolt BMX stem bought and Junker bar on order. Utterly impractical, but surprisingly very quick, grin inducing and makes me want to ride. Plan to put some more all round tyres on at some point too.

Came with it. I might go SS at some point when my fitness is better than the crippled octogenarian level that I’m currently at. So glad I didn’t succumb to the sensible demons, I’d have regretted it. To think I had things like mudguard mounts on my must have list. WTF was I thinking?

I quite fancy one of those or a variant but it’d have to be an N+1, it has no dropper and no suspension FFS!

Come back and ask that again once the weather has turned, a few weeks of rain may jog your memory

My only bike. Figured I’d give suspension and droppers a miss for a bit. Not missed either yet*

*may miss the dropper a bit.

Nah. Never bothered with more than a mucky nutz front fender thing and I ride through puddles on purpose.

There is a lovely Mk3 for sale on the Stooge owners FB group. One off sparkly paint job, dropper and bouncy forks. What more could a man need for £900? I’d have had it if it had been listed a week earlier.

I could easily be tempted but having recently quit my job for a mid life crisis/lifestyle change I think I’d better hold off for now.....but this time next year when I’m a millionaire
