Cycleactive have confirmed that Lake Garda as a destination isn't happening this year . 3 years we've been trying 😔 seems guides have got different jobs plus accommodation costs have priced them out . I'm also guessing that as FL is used as a round of EWS that's become more popular .
Which leads me to the question is it a big step up difficulty wise from Garda ?
The way things are going a UK road trip is becoming more likely .
Also at 66 years old it's looking like my foreign riding jaunts are coming to an end 😔 Can't complain I guess I've been lucky , had a blast places I've been are inevitably on MTBers bucket lists .
The riding we did at Garda was probably more technical than the riding we did at Finale but it could just be horses for courses. Both were fab in different ways...they both have enough trails to find whatever type of riding you like. In an ideal world I'd have a mix of both but if I had to chose then I'd go Finale for the flow and beach finish.
Our Garda trip that has been postponed for the last two years hopefully will now go ahead in June along with some time in the Alps on the way back.
We have also just finalized Finale for the end of September and looking for some other riding near the Med for the following week. We have been to Finale quite a few times over the years, mainly to ride whilst our daughter competed.
Cant help you with how different the riding is but I'm sure you will love the Finale riding and atmosphere. My other half is around your age and has no intention of slowing down or missing out on any riding holidays.
There's a lot of variety in Finale, the larger companies like Finale Freeride run tours in different areas which have more chilled out forest trails, away from the more rocky stuff or steep stuff to be found elsewhere (Their "Middle Earth" tour is one example). Just tell them what you're into and they'll (generally) accomodate.
Our LG trip involved quite a bit of hike a bike - you could ride up 2/3 of the way, then shoulder the bike to the summit - then ride down.

It was via Sadddle Skidaddle but a local guide actually guided the routes on the ground. They only ever ran it once (our trip) was considered too hard for their target market.
Some scum bag UK MTB guiding company branded their outfit using photos pinched from that Flickr album, they then went and did a road trip to Italy and our guide (from LG) spotted their van and gave me a load of abuse for selling his image without his consent - I knew nothing about it! Their van, website all using his image:

I was doing quite well van wise, Saddle Skedaddle vans were also plastered with my photos (with permission) around the same time.
