18 months ago I was diagnosed with cancer for the 2nd time in my life, this time in the right side of my face. I got fantastic support from my family and friends, and plenty of folk on here.

Surgery and radiotherapy went well, and I'm carrying on again in good shape.

This weekend I'll be riding Mayhem solo for Macmillan Cancer Support. Please donate if you're able.

Thanks, Ashley.

I think I might just do that...

Godspeed my friend. At the toughest points of the race, think of those you've met that have faced the same challenge, and they'll help you through.

Good luck, I finish 7 weeks of radiotherapy and two sessions of chemo (it was planned to be three but it was making me too ill) on the fourth of April. I lost 2 stone during the treatment and I've been struggling to put any weight back on despite being told I can eat whatever I like (the treatment killed off my sense of taste and left a lot of scarring in my throat).
I've attempted Mayhem solo three times in the past and always been disappointed with my results, my best advice is relax and don't go off too fast at the start, it's easy to get dragged along with the others and end up running out of steam before midnight.
Best of luck.

Amazing story! Good luck!

If anyone else wants to support Macmillan we're running an endurance challenge up at Glencoe in August. Get involved! www.mgec.co.uk

Thanks for all your support and sponsorship - it helped me keep going when things got tough. I ended up doing 14 laps in 24 hours, didn't sleep, and came 32nd out of 150 solo men. Very happy, and gunning for next year.

So far I've raised £942.38 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Please donate if you feel you can.
