3 true seats in the back? 2 child seats and a kid?
Made of cheese?

The back seat is pretty wide. I have the 7 seater version with two fully removable seats in the boot.

2 child seats, plus another occupant in the back is fine, but might be uncomfortable for an adult for along journey.

Mine is on 86k, 1.6 diesel, and has had a new EGR, but other than that, routine.

3200 miles to the Alps and back this summer. Didn't miss a beat. I'd like cruise control though.

Oh, and mine is a 2013. I really noticed the extra space when moving from a 2005 Berlingo.

Looks like foot cheese? tick!

Has the practicalities of a car van (e.g. berlingo and partner combi) but looks absolutely terrible!

We have a petrol 2014 doblo.
Ludicrously useful, and runs well,
You don’t buy them for looks though.

2 child seats and a booster seat no problem. I bought 54 plate 12 years ago as it had 3 seats the same in the back so no one could complain about getting the middle one. I love it, I will be heartbroken when it finally dies. Seats down and bikes go in upright.

As for the looks well how can you beat a car that you can leave the keys in, engine running  and come back an hour later knowing it'll still be there 🙂

We had a doblo hire car in Spain couple of weeks ago. Three booster type seats across the back but it was a bit of a fiddle getting seatbelts done. It was very basic inside, basically just a slightly posher van. Boot big, and a nice wide loading area. Unrefined and noisy though, and the 1.3 diesel is positively dangerous! No go at all - I'm used to a sluggish car but it really took the biscuit. Roundabouts were a lottery of will it/won't it (go!), motorway overtake had to be planned 4 miles in advance etc. Seats also a bit on the hard/flat side for my liking.

Prefer my Zafira 🙂

They're awesome. We had a 2004 1.9 JTD and it was ace. Also this-

Cars are tools, nothing more.

I hire a van a few times a year, usually get a Berlingo but had a Fiat last time.

Was horrid, felt really cheap compared to a Berlingo and had a few broken bits.

They're like the vehicular version of a pair of crocs 🙂

Cheap, functional, practical, ugly as sin

I’ve owned a 1.3 multijet 2006 Doblo Cargo for the last six years and it’s been the most useful vehicle that I’ve owned - not only for bikes but for rubbish to the tip, loads of firewood, building supplies etc.etc.
I love it and like Kayla23 says, cars/vans are tools - they don’t have to be fashion/lifestyle statements.

Had ours for 8 years.

Unbelievably practical and I quite liked the looks. Honest. 🙂
Oddly fun to drive - very well connected to the road, decent steering, amusing in an old fashioned way.
Very relaxing over long distances.

The interior falls apart, the electrics are, well, you know and it wasn't that well screwed together.

Suspension and brakes need replacing every 60,000 or so and the injectors and turbo went on ours, but that's the risk with most new diesels.
Ours still had the original exhaust and clutch at 110,000.
Two sets of front brake pads and discs, two sets of lower front arms and shocks and a full set of injectors. Then the turbo went......taking the rest of the engine with it.

Economy is poor, our's averaged about 42mpg.

I liked the 1.3 engine - if you think that's slow, try a Honda Jazz. I swear my old Dyane was faster....

If they were better built I'd have had another.

I used to work for a place that had Fiats as fleet vehicles (from about 2012 to 2016 or so). Mix of cars (the 500 / 500L mostly) and vans (Doblo). Had to drive one of them to the vinyl place for it to be decal'd up and pick up a newly decal'd one and drive it back.

Very nearly abandoned the thing within a few miles. Awful to drive, the position was really weird and there was an awkward bulkhead above the gas/brake pedals that caught my foot a few times. Woeful engine - stupidly underpowered for a van.

They were absolutely terrible, universally loathed by everyone who had to drive them. Forever in and out of the garage - Fix It Again Tomorrow. As part of the fleet deal, Fiat offered significant staff discounts. As far as I know, no-one took them up on it!

Unrelated to the above but as part of an event last year, I had a Fiat Ducato hire van from Enterprise which I had to drive about 450 miles to the event and then, a week later, do another long drive after the event. That was awful too. The van needed a few hours written notice to overtake anything.

I had a 2010 (later shape) 1.6 Diesel.
Good bits: Great for throwing bikes in and exceeded expectations for refinement once moving. A decent steer for what it is too.
Some annoyances: Fixed geometry turbo on the 105bhp 1.6 Diesel so really bad lag. The stereo was pants, not a true double DIN so replace with a single din if desired. The rear door catch arrangement caught loads of passengers out. Air-con seemed lacklustre, probably due to its Punto origins. Weird offset seats resulting in massive gap to doors but a tiny armrest. Rust where the rear door seal meets the bodywork as it rubs the paint off. Door rails mild steel so rusty and rough feeling.
Issues: leaking rear shock was all in est. 20,000 miles.
Overall: Decent workhorse, I’d buy the 2.0 Diesel as the turbo lag was the biggest gripe I had with it.
