Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has any recommendation for a leg compression sleeves? Do they actually helps? Keeps getting cramps after a long ride (im sure its normal) but thought compression would help to reduce cramps.

Regarding brakes shimano deore in particular, it feels like my brakes are too soft sometimes I end up pressing it more than I actually should. I asked one of the guys at Tidworth today and he said it feels ok as Shimano brakes feels like that compare to SRAMS which is more responsive kind of feel.

Thanks

Re the brakes, try cleaning out the caliper bodies around the pistons, and allowing the pistons to come out further than they normally would (be careful though, too far and they may pop out, leaving you with a re-assemble and bleed), before pushing them all the way back. They all suffer with the pistons getting a little sticky in their seals, and this frees them up, and will usually firm up the lever noticably.

Soft braking sounds like you may have air in the system and need to bleed them.

Everyone was wearing compression socks a few years ago but now I hardly see anyone wearing them on rides at least.Do you stretch after long rides? As I find this helps with muscle stiffness anyway.

I’d be looking more at hydration and nutrition to address the cramp issue rather than compression socks.

@mcnultycop
I normally just bring water, I find adding something in it taste a bit weird. Does snicker bars counts? 😆

Do have any recommendation for water additive that doesn't leave a weird after taste :/

Could you try just eating a banana - they have potassium in them don't they?

I sometimes find I need to scoff a bag of crisps after a long hot sweaty ride, though maybe that's all in my head and I just use any excuse to eat stuff I know I shouldn't.
