So I'm resigned to the fact that I've lost my Fenix TK11 torch that was my main bike light (with a mount) - and they seem to have gone up in price markedly since I bought it.

Looking at the Fenix stuff I note they've got a couple of bike-specific lights now - anyone got any experience?

£79.95 for 4 hours @ 450 lumens (claimed) - plus batteries actually so add another £10-20 onto that I suppose...

Are there any similar or better options for this sort of money or less? Mainly for country lane road riding. TIA.

I looked into them, for road riding i'm not convinced.

Despite the noise Fenix were making about their reflector design it looked like a very similar beam pattern to the exposure type lights (Or indeed any torch) which imho isn't really good enough- if that's what you want a cheap Chinese torch from ebay will be just as good.

I've had their headtorch (HP10?), it cost £50 for which you would expect a good headtorch, but it was poorly made IMO and wasn't used that much before it started playing up...

Hmmm OK cheers. May give a cheap DX unit a whirl before investing too heavily then I think. It's not like I'll be using it loads TBH.

What about the MTB Batteries guy? everyone seems to be happy with what he's peddling.

Torchy on eBay has a good selection of branded bike lights if youve got a bit more caseh to spend. I'd love one of those ridiuclous fluxient lights.

I had a Fenix BT20 FOC to test. Its a great light but there are better options for the money - by the time you bought a decent 18650 charger and a pair of cells the cost crept up to that of Smudge's Lumenator or the Gloworm X1 - both of which are better lights (IMHO).

I still use it as a back up/loaner- it does the job very well - I just couldn't recommend it ahead of what else is out there
