As above really been looking at varying 150/160 mm bikes can't really find any reviews on them.

A friend had one. It worked really well, but I think it was a bit fussy of shock pressure. He rode it and ride it and ride it.

Then the bearings wire out and it wagged like a fish down the trail!

It uses Felt's "Equilink" suspension. I'm not an expert on suspension but I had a bike with this, and as above, the bearings seem to gather mud and then destroy themselves. Probably fine if you live somewhere dry and/or are happy replacing bearings on a fairly regular basis.

Apparently they've now "sorted" the bearings. Just can't find any decent reviews.

Anymore thoughts before I take the plunge?

If they've sorted the bearings it might be ok?.
If they haven't then you'd better own a bearing company as you will be getting through quite a few of them.
Is it cheap because I don't think they're that popular when it comes to selling them on?

It's nearly half price. My current spesh has been ragged to the limit over the last 4 years so I wouldn't be selling it on and expecting much as it will probably be in the same state.

This is the blurb
"In addition, the stiffness and strength of every Compulsion frame has been bolstered by the use of all-new links and hardware, revised pivot placement, and tweaked tube shapes. Cartridge bearings ensure smooth travel, and the pivot axles have been updated with a new custom thru-shaft for improved durability and strength."

If it was my money I'd get something I knew wasn't quite so fragile. As far as I can tell from tinterwebs, they've replaced the needle bearings with bushings, which is probably a good thing, but in my experience, the whole setup just seemed to need a lot more attention and maintenance than I could give it. The bolt in the middle snapped for example.

I also wonder if it's quite an old design now; a lot's happened in the world of suspension since Equilink came out. But I don't really know anything about such things (current bike is HT, in large part through getting bored of replacing worn-out Equlink pivot bearings).

EDIT:

It's nearly half price

Hmmmm, what could possibly go wrong....
