Hey there guys,
I was reading some of topics on this forum and i think you are the right people to ask- a lot of bike-people enthusiasts 😀

It's a jacket for legs meant to protect the user against rain. It's easy to use, just like any jacket, but for legs instead of upper body. We made a landing page and a short video to prove the point.

Since people like you guys are some of our future users we would really like some feedback from you for the product we developed.
What is your general opinion on the product? Would you find it useful?
What would you improve?
Would you use such a product? If not, who would you recommend it to?
😀 😀
I know that this is my first post here, but we really appreciate your feedback; it will help us a LOT in succesfuly re-launching our product. (yeah, we kind of failed the first time)
Thanks

AKA trousers?

It's not a bad idea, but I think someone got there first.

Can we have some info that's not in a video?

Summary: Trousers. As invented in the Paleolithic Era. 2.6 million years of humanity is probably not wrong!

I can kind of see the point, for city commuters where pulling trousers on over wet / muddy shoes means you drag the mud up the inside and onto your trousers anyway. I don't think recreational cyclists are your target market though - off road I suspect they'll not be robust enough to withstand crashes and brambles, on road they're not aerodynamic, and in any case solutions already exist for serious cyclists, either lycra / thermal tights which can be made water repellant, or just get wet and muddy legs.

But my real concern would be that they aren't really innovative - side fastening trousers have been used for donkeys years, from strippers through to basketball warm up suits, so you haven't really broken new ground. Hence it's not IP worthy, anyone could copy you, and leading on from that, when it's an obvious example / extension of either waterproof trousers or side fastening trousers, the nagging question to me is why someone already active in this area hasn't already done it (Gore, Karrimor, etc.) And the obvious conclusion is that they considered it and decided it wasn't a commercially attractive idea.

Sorry, my 2p. And needless to say, I'm out.

I genuinely can't work out if this is a troll or not, if it is then it's ones of the most elaborate trolls ever, if not I despair.

I quite like the idea for city commuters who probably cycle to work in their work clothes - keep some of these in a pack with you in case it starts raining on the way into work. They look quite quick & simple to put on.

Not sure if there is a market for them, but I quite like them.....

I'd just pack normal waterproof trousers if I wanted something for commuting by bike or, as I tend to commute in proper riding gear, just get wet or wear my water repelling longs.

Yes, but even so I've got pair of mountain warehouse button/zip up waterproof trousers somewhere, they even come apart at the knees to make shorts.

Shorts, like fingerless-mittens for your legs.

Also, the shoe covers. Pretty sure cycling kit manufacturers have that one nailed already. We even have socks for cycling shoes

Look like a decent pair of waterproof trousers if the zip keeps the water out. But the name is beyond ridiculous. The key question is price, £20-£30 decent product, £30+ no thanks.

I can't see the video, so I've no idea what is being touted, but it *sounds* similar to "Rainlegs":

Seems like an awful lot of effort for a joke or parody (especially when it's not really funny).

So assuming it is real.....nothing wrong the basic principle for commuters (though the execution looks like it leaves a lot to be desired), but to try and pass it off as innovative indicates a complete lack of research/background knowledge.

There's something like this out there already. I know because my sister had a pair. We spent 15 minutes on a windswept Irish mountain trying to stop them blowing away while she tried to put them on.

Ah, yes. I never said that they were the only product out there though.

The name thing is probably some kind of translation hiccup; something that probably works fine in another language, but just sounds a bit naff in English.

I think they're getting a bit of an unfair slating to be honest....they look like they'd do the job, are compact & quick to take on or off....

This rain leg things on the other hand.....only protect the front of your legs, all the rain would run off onto the unprotected areas making those bits even wetter & no protection from the dysentery ass appearance as soon as it rains.....

Yeah, they're not exactly 'new' and the name is a bit silly....
But, if Rapha came up with something similar made from organic unicorn feathers, there'd be a queue of salivating beardies from this very forum ready to pay £150 for them.

A few things for the OP, Claudiu06.....
no idea of price on your website, no link to your kickstarter page on your website & no general information on your website apart from a few photo's....e.g. cost, sizing, does the shoe protector come included....etc.
You aren't making it that easy for people to find out more and if people are a bit undecided they'll probably just not bother looking further, whereas if you make it easier for people to get to the information they might investigate further.....edit - even your 'further details contact us' e-mail at the bottom doesn't do anything - doesn't fire up an e-mail in Outlook, open an enquiry page etc....it gives the impression you couldn't be arsed doing the website properly.....

I have to ask, when you came up with this idea, did you actually walk into any outdoor clothing shops to see if it exists already? Because it does, and has for years.

Erm...just searched on kickstarter for the campaign and nothing comes up.
Searching for jacket legs, legs jacket etc. brings up nothing.

This could be an issue.....

@IHN - sure, take a look here over our full campaign:

@theotherjonv - well, in fact last year we had a campaign for a velcro version and the backers asked us to make a zipper version as they would prefer that instead. we named it legs jacket so we can get peoples' attention and also give them a brief idea of what they are. When you say rain pants you don't think of size zippers.

@oliverracing we all are [img] [/img]

@chiefgrooveguru and @perchypanther by popular demand we also have: Hats for Tits, Pants for Arms and Sock for Cocks. Subscribe on our page and you'll get an e-mail when we launch a new product. 😀

@stumpy01 thanks for the positive words! 🙂

@ads678 we actually do. It's catchy, isn't it?! 😛

@thisisnotaspoon "Shorts, like fingerless-mittens for your legs." oh this is genius! Can be our next product! 😯

@atlaz the shoe covers come as an add on and they are only for cyclists

@hexhamstu our manufacturing costs are more than that, which means that the quality is better than that

@tillydog - well we have a product similar to that, but better.

@ads678 [img] [/img]

@neil the wheel - now here we have 3 options here: 1. the product your sister had was terrible, case in which we can offer her a discount on ours (we don't such problems) 2. your sister is a bit clumsy - I'd say 15minutes is quite a lot. 3 You sir are a liar!

@the-muffin-man - that is the old version -
@stumpy01 - the only helpful guy here. [img] [/img]
You searched for legs jacket and there's nothing (yet). We did the same and saw opportunity.

All in all, guys, thanks for your feedback (and for trolling us) but we are preparing to launch our Kickstarter campaign soon and we would really appreciate if you could take a look first.

Ignore the morons above OP. I think it's a great idea and have never thought of covering my lower body with clothing before. Only issue i can see for me and other half naked cyclists (there are thousands of us btw*) is that we have grown accustomed to our southern region getting wet and quite like it. Occasionally it's a little uncomfortable when you get grit and stones in the biffens area so perhaps you could you do a sawn-off version? A T-Shirt for legs if you will.

* we too have our own forum - you might get a better reception there.

Would you not be better off tagging these as zip-up waterproof trousers? No one will ever find them on the web with the daft name. Easy access pants are already available I believe.

We've got a pair of McKinley ones somewhere.
Waterproof, breathable, stretch panels as well i think.

Getting a bit threadbare now, they are several years old though.

Takes me back to my Adidas popper trousers...

The school bully would creep up behind and rip 'em off you...

Anyway, back on track...

If you could make trousers for torsos that would be great. Like this:
