Girlfriend bought me a Bluegrass helmet for Christmas. I ran my old Fox helmet through the rest of the winter/spring mud = nice shiney helmet for the good weather 😚👌🏼

However the adjustment dial on the back of the Bluegrass has fallen off, so it now can't be tightened up. In my opinion it is currently unsafe & unusable.

CRC were contacted weeks ago and have been dragging their heels at every stage. They requested photo evidence, they then stopped responding so had to be chased repeatedly, they then insisted we reformatted all the photos to a smaller size...🙄

Eventually they agreed that the helmet is faulty - but they won't repair it, nor will they replace it. But we can have a gift voucher instead, not a refund.

Surely on an item with a 2 year warranty, it would be expected to be - repair, replace, or refund?

What do you reckon? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Agree, put your foot down for a repair, replacement or refund.

Contact Bluegrass. Had differing answers from shops/distributors versus the manufacturer.

Bought a white Troy Lee A1 from them a couple of years back. First ride it got caked in lovely British mud. When I cleaned it,the mud had stained it to sh1t! Looked awful and IMO shouldn't have been the case.

Phoned them. Sent a photo. They paid the return postage. Got a full refund the next day.

Keep badgering them!

That’s crap.
Funny how perceptions of companies change though. CRC was long regarded as the mutt’s nuts as far as online bike shops go - not so much these days, whereas Planet X were lambasted frequently on here but when I bought a helmet from them recently that had a tiny dent in it Brant sent another out straight away without requesting pics etc of the initial one. Great customer service. Hope you get some joy with CRC.

So there's your answer - tell them your helmet is ugly, not faulty, and you gets yer money back! 😆

I've had terrible warrenty experience from CRC and won't go near them with a sterilized bargepole now.
How was the helmet bought? Could you put in a claim through paypal or something? That should kick them into action.

You can get caught by policy though. I had the exact same issue on a helmet I bought with my own cash-money in an actual shop (I know, crazy these days). Anyway, I emailed in, but as the shop is 300 miles away when they said I needed to return it to the store, despite the obvious and quickly developed problem which I was happy to remedy if I had the correct part, I did think they were taking the proverbial.

Anyway, a few days after said email exchange I got an email with an apology from the company saying of course they'd send me the bits needed, and they duly did. It took the person in the office with the initiative hat on that day to go round the normal policy to resolve what was a very simple to deal with warranty issue, and of course a policy of checking on whats going on every now and again.

Hehe.

I actually opened this thread to (jokingly) say that if he asks nicely Brant will offer a free replacement 😂
👍

Have a conversation with them and ask them why they seem keen to deny you your statutory right under consumer law to a repair, replacement or refund.
