Hi guys,

Me & the Mrs want to go Morzine next year with our Fattys (4" tires).

I've done some research as to weather our bikes will fit on the lifts & had mixed responses!

So far I've been told that they will fit on the Gonzala (bubble) lifts no probs as the bikes will go inside them lifts, but as for other lifts it seems a "grey" area.

Some say yup & some say they won't! There is a thread on this forum where it seems some did take their fattys to Morzine, but they didn't reply with the outcome & the thread was about 6 years old!

I've emailed a few of the lift operators in morzine, some replied & some didnt as yet & I was told using the actual Morzine lifts will be no problem (bubble) but they're not sure about the other lifts etc. The trails we will do will mostly be on the Super Morzine.

So does anyone know if our bikes will fit the lifts, maybe someone here has been there with fatbikes & had no problem, or nothing but problems!?

I know there are some people probably reading this thinking "why take a fatbike, just hire a bike there etc"

We like our fatbikes, I custom built them for us so they fit/feel just right, so hired bikes is a no-go! ..we just want to take our own fatbikes as we enjoy them! We have ridden trails/DH centers/XC stuff etc, but we really would like to go Morzine 🙂

Any useful info much appreciated!

Cheers 🙂

I think I am one of those in the old topic. I tried about 6 years ago mannaged the full pas portes loop although it was sometimes scetchy. but was told by the Les Gets responsible to never come back.

But it seems there is good news a French dude inquired and tried in 2018.

it's in French but as I am rather fluent. It works but at some lifts you need to wait till one of the special wider setups comes along(so better not go in a big fatbike group) He also believed his 4.0 was the max and that bigger tire sizes wouldn't work on some(this is apparently somewhere in their rules as read elsewhere.

Les gets explains here in english what's possible.
