Evening All

Has anyone tried to fat/boost a 29er Scandal frame?

I have one and am curious as to what would be the biggest tyre you could get in and if anyone has tried going for wider tyres on 27.5 rims?

Many years ago I went half-fat with my Scandal.

I wouldn't bother now because of the ready availability of fat stuff - back then I even had to bodge up the front fork from 3 others to fit a fat tyre after waiting months for an ordered one to arrive.

It worked really well, especially when I used the adjustment in the fork to steepen the head angle (the fork was rigid, but adjustable for height and offset). The only problem is the fat front tempts you into places that the skinnier rear isn't so keen on.

With a plus size 27.5er this would not be so noticeable, but that does not fit in the back of a Scandal 29er.
