Fed up with servicing and fixing pivot etc, fat bike rigid rides so much better just didn’t really want to give up on the full sus when I’ve spent so bloody much on it

Had loads of hard tails and just don’t find them comfy, if I sell I might buy a titanium plus+ as a spare 😜

I've had a fat bike for years and really enjoy it, loads of fun but I couldn't see me getting rid of everything else. If you need cash or space then fair enough but its always nice to go back to a normal bike now and again.

I was just messing. I sold my FS not long after getting my Fat bike, but I never really got on with bouncy bikes.

I still have 2 HT's though.

But I've been out on my Fat bike today and just love it.

I love both full suss trail bikes and rigid fatbikes but for some some reason struggle with hardtails. Even took the Bluto off the fatbike. Each to their own though.

Did the Mary Townley loop yesterday and a planned Cairngorms loop next month and the fatty is perfect for riding I do. Just don’t want the full sus to sit there doing nothing so probably sell and put it to another plus maybe

I've got both types of bike and find myself riding the fatbike more and more. It's faster downhill for a start.

I've recently bought a carbon frame which I need to swap everything on to so there'll be a 19" cube nutrail frame in the classifieds soon.

No Einstein, they ride bikes with a lot more travel than my full suss bike. In other words, what the terrain they ride on requires. My local terrain doesn't need that, and as such the fat bike is quicker over it.

But feel free to make banal statements if that's your bag.

The cheaper running costs of the fat bike are certainly appealing, compared to the Full Suss, bet it saves a good few hundred £ every year if doing serious mileage. Never tried a Fat Bike but can see the appeal. I always thought they'd be slow on non-techy climbs and on the flat due to the drag of the wide tyre, but having ridden with fat bikers they don't seem any slower than the other bikes.

I also know a fat biker who does hardly any descending (mostly rides flat stuff all the time), yet he easily overtook everyone in a big group going down Garburn Pass, in the Lake District.

I sold my Five earlier this year as i prefer the Puffin for most of my riding. Shame to leave it languishing in the garage, coming out a few times a year for trips to Bike Park Wales.

We went to BPW last week & I hired a Remedy 8 for £75. Had a fab day & handing it back at the end of the day actually felt quite liberating. No worrying about servicing or cleaning it.

i recon the Five cost me £100 a trip in depreciation & servicing costs.

I’m building up my old SIR.9 again as a hardtail but the Puffin is such a good bike I’m not sure how much use it will get.

Servicing costs ? If all it's doing is a few trips to BPW a year and nothing else, I'm surprised it ever got enough use to need a service

I love my fatbike but it'd never be my only bike, not a chance. But ride the bike you want, and if that's always the fatbike then why keep a bike you don't ride?
