You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I've been asked by one of my best mates and longest standing riding buddies to be his best man in May next year. Obviously this brings with it the job of organising the stag do, one option for which is hiring some fat bikes and either doing a bike packing weekend, or just tooling about on them for the day.
Now the problem - I can't find any places in the UK that just hire fat bikes rather than going on a full blown weekend away guided trip.
So - does anyone know of any places you can hire out fat bikes? Location isn't really a problem at the moment as I'm happy to arrange to get us wherever needed within reason (we're mostly in the South West).
Any suggestions gratefully received - Google hasn't thrown up much so far...
bothy bikes in aviemore do this. (about as difficult to get to from the south east as the alps i appreciate :D)
I think swinnertons @ cannock have demo fatties or try Wayne @ EDS bikes
Swimmertons at Cannock had one or two for hire.
If I were organising a biking stag do I'd be booking a day at Bike Park Wales.
They do hire bikes for any that need them.
+1 for Bothy Bikes, will give out some good route advice too.
I've hired fat bikes from bothy bikes in aviemore
Good bikes - salsa ice cream truck and a genesis caribou iirc
Bothy Bikes is the obvious choice, especially as Aviemore is a bit of a stag do destination anyway.
Also try Laws Cycles in North Berwick.
Either way, you are likely to be constrained by the number of bikes available.
The problem will be to find enough in one place to hire.Theres just not that many around.Maybe you could try Charlie the bike monger in Swanage or see if Graham Foot at slam69 he might be able to do something for you he is in Gloucester.
Either way, you are likely to be constrained by the number of bikes available.
Is that not because if all those fatbikenoobs were to experience the Grinz™ at the same time it would cause a rift in the WorldWideGrinzQuota and hundreds of kittens would die a slow and painful death?
Is any stag do really worth that shit? I think not.
Think of those cute little kittens with thier big eyes you heartless bastard.
Wheelbase in Staveley had some kona hire fat bikes last time I was in there..Lakes is pretty good for stag do's if your all outdoorsy inclined.
Wow, thanks for all the pointer in such a quick space of time!
Hmm., Scotland is on his list of options, so Aviemore could be good. Gives us the opportunity to do more stuff in one place too. Also useful to have more local options too, Gloucester, Swanage and BPW are all easily do-able.
Dobiejessmo - I'd thought number would be a problem too, but i'll contact the places mentioned and see what they have.
Thanks for all the suggestions, more welcome but I have a few good leads to follow now (none of which showed up in my various googling so far).
This year cyb had trek farleys for hire .
