Has anyone got experience of both?

They are similar money and I’m just wondering which is better.

Charger is better over longer runs - the YariUp is open bath with the attendant issues that brings. Only ridden the FAST briefly, and it’s a doddle to fit, but went with the Charger myself, as I was more bothered by damper performance on long runs than the ability to tune low, mid and high speed compression independently.

Whilst trawling the forum this morning instead of working I spotted a few threads mentioning the Novyparts Splug. As all those threads are closed I'll ask about it here instead.

Who's got one? Can you offer any comparisons to the YariUp or Charger? Has anyone run one with a coil conversion?

Splug is cheaper so that's a plus. The big difference is open bath Vs sealed damper.

The open damper is easier to service and the damping oil also serves to lubricate. It's also quicker and easier to tune the shim stack of that's your thing.

On the downside, prolonged runs can lead to air mixing with the oil and reducing the damping. However, you've really got to be going some to notice that.

Not ridden any of the specific dampers listed.

I have the yari up and all I can say by way of comparison is that its significantly better than the original moco damper, however I can give some other chat.
The up kit includes some squishy foam to reduce the oil foaming and air mixing that you get with typical open bath dampers, I imagine it must help.

I used to run 2 tokens into stock yari but the fitting instructions said to remove them all and use the medium speed compression to control the drive. I was a little dubious but thought I'd give it a go so I started with with none dialled on and went for a few rides. In the end I wound up the MSC until it was standing up nicely in a set of brake jabby switchbacks and haven't touched it since. I haven't even thought of adding a token as the fork is lurrvely and smooth and doesn't bottom out harshly, I'm pleased with it.
