You'll be looking for a 50mm gravel tyre. I know that seems a silly point it will help googling

I've used Gravelkings in 50c for a few years now, run tubeless and no puncture issues (Scotland based).

These - https://road.cc/content/review/goodyear-connector-ultimate-gravel-tyre-282737

Reccomended them loads of times on here as they are ace. Particularly how 'fast' they feel given they are basically mountain bike tyre size. 700x50s. Black, not minging tan wall though.

Terreno Dry 2.0 or Race Kings. Race Kings meant to be a bit lower tested rolling resistance but I think the Terrenos feel just as quick.
Byways are my general use favourite but that's for how long the tread lasts more than grip or ride feel. The compound is a tad hard and the tread area is quite thick.

I've recommended these on a few threads already but happy to recommend them again as they're so fast.

Terravail cannonball user here, fast now, terrifying if there's just a touch of dampness around

Not really a semi slick though with the tread running down the middle

if it's genuinely dry conditions only, just get a slick.

Jan Henie of Rene Herse has written a bunch about how knobs don't help on dry gravel and road and he makes some very fair points:

I was going to say Terrano Dry as there are great. But I didn’t think that they made them in 700c 47mm

I can’t see them listed?

The Schwalbe Almotion is a great tyre for puncture resistance. I got sick of getting punctures in my cheap Schwalbe Hurricanes so I tried these.

Tour - Schwalbe Professional Bike Tires

I put them on the MTB for road riding over the winter but I never got a puncture in them even when riding down the odd thorny track to and from a meetup.

They don't, they're labelled a 29er above 45mm, called the Terreno XC.

I loved them, super fast, not so confident on corners though so I bought some Mezcals to experiment with but haven't had a chance to try them.

Cheers

That’s kind of crazy making that distinction. It had rather put me off the bikes that take 700c tyres and big clearance as I thought I’d lose the options for one of my favourite tyres

Listed as 2.1 and 2.25 here

There definitely is a 47c version of the Terreno Dry, I have them on my Stormchaser. Vittoria make excellent tyres but are terrible at updating their website. It's a great tyre, would recommend.

My wife's Terreno Zero are very quick. My wife was not happy with how they performed on the very dry gravel paths around Aberfoyle. So the lack of grip is more of an issue for some. I was fine on my very work Terreno Wets, they're virtually a semi-slick now 😆

Think I’ve come down to the Victoria terreno dry 700 x 47mm or Pirelli 700 x 45
Cinturato (sp?) H’s

Any particular opinions?

I have another set of wheels and tyres for damper going

But a 50mm gravel tyre is bang on trend so will cost more than a 29er 2 inch, out of fashion tyre.

Assuming they use the same construction method I can certainly vouch for the Pirelli's as I've been running a pair of 650x50 Cinturato M's since last year and I ride some pretty chunky stuff on them from time to time. No punctures yet.

I live in Winchester which means the first 50km and the last 50km of the KAW are my regular playground. It’s rare a weekend goes by when I don’t ride one of the two to sone extent at least.

Over the years I’ve experimented with loads of different bike and tyre combos, just for the fun of it. I’ve settled on the combination of 50mm (700c / 29) gravel tyres and 100mm front suspension as being my favourite balance of control, fun and speed. I really do think it’s the best bike for those sections all things considered.

I run 50mm cinturato Ms on my Scott scale and love them. I have the 40 Hs on my gravel bike and they don’t feel any slower tbh.

Run a pair of 2.35's on my Stumpy, very quick rolling, good puncture protection.
