When the store says "first free service", if you're not a proficient mechanic PLEASE PLEASE get that service done

And if your bike starts making odd noises or not working quite right, PLEASE PLEASE don't just ignore it.

How someone can ignore a noise like that for over a year and enough mileage to require a new chain/cassette is beyond me.
Although, to be fair, a first service from the same 'mechanic' that PDId the bike might have been a fate worse than death.

I have to agree. Getting paid to play with bikes is perfect apart from the money but I don't think of work as a chore
