Just got back from a ride with Grant off here. It was perfect, the weather was absolutely spot on. Everything seems so crisp, clear and green, unlike some hazy summer days.

First time I've ridden this and I must say it's superb. The drop onto the road through the woods before you get to Rosthwaite is bloody brill !!! The Turner was just superb. The route seems to encompass all the different types of Lakeland riding in a nice 20 miler.

a few more here

Right through the gate just after Birkett's Leap (your fourth pic) ? That's Frith Wood - it's a nice alternative to the faster descent, quite greasy 99% of the time but dry as a bone at the moment 🙂

Rode it on Good Friday - had a mega crash on that drop down to Roshtwaite - just after your pic there is a left hand corner - just past there on the marbles.

Smashed a shifter, my right wrist, left elbow, left pelvis, left hip, bruised ribs, smashed helmet - so all in all a good one.

Bloody brilliant though.

Ha ha if only - this is usually the only bit of a summer we get in Keswick. Normal service will be resumed shortly 😀

wow nice pics, sure was a great day out today, really enjoyed it. Views were fantastic and it was good to have me own photographer there. Beer tasted all the better somehow too.
Sure rain will resume soon n lakes will be back to normal before long tho.

I can see a face in the top right residue in your pint glass, it looks like the fella creeping in on the left of the 4th photo. Looks like a great day out.

That's one of my favourite routes that! I was in the Lakes for a couple of days last week but not that far north, haven't ridden that route in a while.

Smashed a shifter, my right wrist, left elbow, left pelvis, left hip, bruised ribs, smashed helmet - so all in all a good one.

Blimey, how did you get out of that one?! Mtn Rescue/air amubulance job? A mate broke his pelvis on that route many years ago but on the other main descent, the drop past Castle Crag.

Grant has ridden it before, but I have led a very sheltered life. My wife keeps me locked up cleaning all day 😥

It's great when you have one of those days where everything just clicks into place - really makes life worth living. 🙂

Love that rocky descent into Rosthwaite - stayed in a camping barn right at the bottom and did it on my 30th Birthday which was great. Didn't know about the Frith Wood option though, will have to try that.
