Hoping to take a holiday out at Morzine this summer (global pandemic dependent) and wondered if anyone had any advice on mellow trails suitable for bikes with Kids Ride Shotgun seats? We’re not really going for a biking holiday but will obviously be taking them (and 2 2 year old kids) and looking for some off-road bimbles around the area.

We’ve excepted it’s just a pleasant family holiday and not our usual lift assisted blast. But we have been going there for about 15 y’m years and just love the area.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Along the river in the Parc des dereches, round lac montriond, along the river going out of town towards the nyon lift.

Cheers, I’ll look them up.
I’ll probably brave up to taking them down Panoramic as well later in the week (much slower than usual) and hopefully figure out some fire track routes as well (the loop out the back of Mont Chery should be ok)

Yep, up past Nyon to the Lac des Mines d’Or is good.
Down the river all the way to Saint-Jean is nice too.
Up hill from Lac du Montriond for a mile or two to the waterfall is doable too. All the way to the goats in Lindarets would be a good test of the legs...got ebikes??
You could go up the cable car from Prodains to Avoriaz and work your way back down the ridge to the Super Morzine lift and go back down that...if bike tickets can still be bought for single trips and the shotguns are allowed.

Hopefully they’ll let Shotguns on the lifts, I know of people who’ve been allowed to take trailers on there. Trying to figure out as many lift accessed trails/tracks we could do

I'm interested in this too.

I've still never been to Morzine/Les Gets.
Would there be enough to do there for my non-biking wife and two young children aged 7 and 2?
I'd like to go for two weeks and bring the family but not sure if there would be enough for to do if we went for two weeks?
Anyone in the same boat?
It's the alps so obvs plenty of walking and exploring to do but not sure they'd love just walking about the hills all day while daddy smashes it on the dh bike...

I took our two boys on the lifts when they were 3-5 years old with a LOCT child seat. Getting on the lift with a LOCT was no problem.

Bit more robust than a Shotgun, but a similar idea, and I certainly did the Chavannes red top to bottom with them (slowly, wheels on ground).

They both survived.

Fair amount to do in terms of lake swimming, Aquariaz, walking, riding lifts, rafting etc, but more at 7 plus.

Don’t miss the museum of mechanical music 😉. A cultural masochists dream (that’s probably unfair but it wasn’t my thing).

Off the bike there is a fair bit to do but it is mostly active stuff. Skate park, tennis, ice ring, swimming (two great pools and a lake), go ape, rafting, walking, playing in streams, mini golf. There are sometimes events on which are great. The cow festival, the medieval fair, tour de l'avenir, rallye mont-blanc. So plenty if you like that sort of thing. Not much other stuff, although you can day trip to other towns. One big benefit is the layout of the biking means its easy to do a half day riding, or be out for the day but meet up for lunch. Or there are places, like the lake in Les Gets, where you can do laps on the lift, they can play in the lake and on the playground, and you keep popping by.

@shanner

As well as what's listed above, there's the School Lake at Les Gets for lovely swimming and sunbathing. It was our end of day finish, every day!
Just riding the lifts and going for a walk & picnic has near endless possibilities.
Les Gets in my view is quieter and much more family friendly.
