Hi all, thinking of taking the sprogs to Holland this summer; anyone recommend a good place to be based with a variety of family days out?

I'd be tempted in your position to go to a few places each for a few days. Perhaps one of the islands, a day or two on the coast, South for the windmills and stuff and for the old towns.
Franeker in the north is a lovely old town and we like gouda as well.
There is a network of cyclceroutes everywhere - look out for green map boards at junctions that mark the local scenic network of routes
