Mrs lipseal has asked me to enquire about some injury insurance cover. Been looking at sports cover direct.
So is it a waste of money and has anyone actually claimed, plus are there better ones?
Not going to get round this, believe me I've tried to talk her out of it.
Thanks in advance
I think you can get it through British Cycling (gold membership). Our road club captain came off on a holiday and spent 6 weeks in hospital. He said they paid him £25 a day.
Are ewe talking "I've broken my leg give me £5k" or "I've broken my leg cover my least earnings"
They cover loss of earnings and payout if you die. The quote is for gold cover, class c employment and is £159 for the year. It's to give the wife piece of mind if anything happens.
Being self employed its pretty mandatory for me, and having had a couple of injuries last year am certainly glad for the benefits.
Mine is part of a Shop policy that covers several other things, but given the ease of claim and support given if they do offer policies to individuals I'd recommend Norwich Union / Aviva.
Mines more of a cover of costs while incapacitated, although there is some death cover (which the wife likes to point out and smile at on occasion).

Good point I'm into my 3rd week on the sick with a knackered shoulder due to a fall from my bike whilst out on the fells, and have recently found out that work only doe SSP, luckily we've got enough money put by, so its not a big problem and I should be back at work in the next few weeks, but its definitely some thing I will be looking into in the next few day.
