What do I need to buy to extend the travel on a 2018 Pike RC.
It is a 27.5+ boost fork with 130mm travel currently.
Do I just need an air shaft rod thing? which part?
What travel can I go to - does anyone know where I can find out and part numbers?
Cheers.
Yep, just a new airshaft. You can get 140mm, 150mm or 160mm. 160mm is the max.
All the info you need is HERE.
If its a 27.5+ I think you need the one as if its a 29 fork
Brilliant thanks.
Confusingly Rock Shox don't list a 27.5+ plus Pike, just a 27.5 and 29 - so since I guess a 27.5 fork wouldn't fit the tyre it must be a 29 fork? Was OEM on a plus bike not aftermarket.
So from that chart both the 275 and 29 ones use the same part anyway. But in the selector it says specifically 29/150 and 29/160 but not the others? Maybe I will drop them a call to order to check.
I could go from current 130mm to 160mm travel swapping only this part for £42 and removing a couple of bottomless tokens? I was thinking 140 or 150 actually, maybe I wouldn't notice any difference going 140.
In RS land, plus is the same chassis as 29.
Yep, a little oil and blob of suspension grease and dose of patience with the circlip pliers plus replacement air shaft is all you need to alter any current airsprung RS to any travel available on that chassis.
