I've borrowed a 2005/6/7 Exposure light (a Race maybe?) off a mate to use at the Strathpuffer this weekend.

The on/off switch is on top of the unit, rather than at the back and seems very stiff to use (you can't really feel it push in). I assume it's the usual two pushes on/long push off operation but can't get the lamp to do anything. Helpfully, my 2011 charger doesn't seem to fit into the lamp either (in this case, the hole appears to be just behind the bar mount).

So - any idea if the chargers ever changed, and if the operation is still the same?

Cheers!

(My friend's gone skiing and I can't get hold of him or find anything on the internet, hence asking here! And I will call Exposure when I get the chance.)

According to the article the button works slightly differently, push and hold to turn on -

"The system is easy to use, with a single push-button on top. Push and hold to turn on, push once to switch between high and low power modes, hold for two seconds to go into flashing mode, push and hold to turn off. Simple"

Good work - that's the one!

Still not working though. I think it may be flat (I know he hasn't used it for a while) and I think the socket may be bust (or I've bust it... time to get it repaired for him...).

The older Exposure lights you wouldn't feel a positive "click" or anything - they use a very light touch, IIRC from my Mk1 Joystick a quick, light double tap for on, light press and hold for off. Alternatively, just ask the mate who lent it to you in the first place!
