After a year or so of putting up with my lights intermittent failing, I realised that Vaseline on the contracts helps massively! Hope this helps someone...

I used corrosion block waterproof electrical grease, and on the threads.
My other top tip is a strip of gorilla tape to stop your saddle bag wearing two flats on the top. Oops.
