My Diablo has done a couple of years winter service but no longer seems to hold a full charge for long, eg, I cant select the highest output for more than a few minutes before it dims, into what I assume is the battery saving mode - and then only gives me 2 settings. Once in this battery saving mode I used to be able to select the higher setting even for a few seconds before it dimmed.

I'm assuming the battery is on the way out, I reckon I have 3 options:

1. Send back to exposure to replace the battery - anyone done this, any idea of cost?
2. Buy an expansion battery, but this will add weight to my helment light and is it just delaying the inevitable failure
3. Replace the diablo - costly!

Before I opt for the inevitably of option 3, are 1 or 2 worth considering?

Option 1, Exposure are very good at this stuff, a quick phone call/e-mail to them would give you an idea of cost, if at all
they might even offer to upgrade the internals, you never know, if you're nice
