You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I recently bought a Maxx D Mk13
Just topping it up for tomorrow nights ride and it started at 97% - probably didn't really need topping up to be fair
It's now still charging 20 mins later and it says 91% - *edit now 92%
Sure it did this last time, but eventually got to 100%.
Anyone else seen anything similar?
Might just leave it as I know batteries don't like having the last few % forced in
My Race never gets to 100%, just hovers at 95%, so I'm not sure if this isn’t just an Exposure thing
Are you switching on the charger before connecting it to the light?

In this instance, no. Why?
I think Exposure lights charge to 95% then its goes to a trickle charge for the last 5% which takes an age
Don't they go into trickle charge once the battery reaches a certain % (90?) - to protect the battery.

I get that - will protect the battery.
Just strange how it charged at 97% for a good few minutes, then when I looked again, had dropped to 91%

I've got a couple of things that ask you to make sure the charger is plugged in and awake before connecting it to the device/battery.
(I also have a couple that say the opposite!)

I'll check the instructions next time to be sure
After contacting Exposure about worse than advertised battery life, I was told, by them, to switch the charger on before connecting it to the light. That was a few years ago and I've continued to do so.
^^^ I was told that too, though it was perhaps by you ! 🙂
Maybe the battery warmed up a bit and therefore had a greater capacity, so could take on a bit more charge..?
That would probably drop the readout in the way described. My Race does this sometimes and also normally sticks at about 95-97%.
My Toro does the same - gets to about 97% then trickle charges the rest of the way.
Turning it on shows the full 100% though and the times shown for light remaining are accurate.
I had some weirdness too. Exposure told me to use the charging plug rather than the cable for best results. Not sure it made too much difference tbh.

Yeah, that's a possibility.
Fully charged at 100% now anyways.
Cheers all
leave it plugged in for over 24 hours.
I have to occasionally do this with a Sixpack that doesn't get used very often.
It apparently re calibrates and balances the cells.
I also think you need to turn the charger on before plugging it in or it changes what program you have it set to.
charge it until you get a code appearing instead of 100%
also you are using a proper charger and not a usb lead ?
I have the same issue with my Maxx-d, plug it in to charge and it decreases. I just unplug it all and ensure the socket is on before I plug in the charging cable.
I've had my maxx D go initially from about 70% (by just looking on the light before charging) then once charging slowly drops to ~60% but then go back up to 100% after a few hours
